M88 (MiPhone) Vs M188 - Both Are IPhone Clones, But How Are They Different? Which is Better?

I often write about the iPhone clones and I find that many people confuse these two phones. This is understandable as their names only differ by one number. Both are very nice phones, but they are very different. I'll go over their similarities and differences in this article.

Similarities:

Both Are iPhone Clones Full Of Features: Both of these mobile phones are finger touch phones based on the iPhone. Both look and function like the original, allowing for web browsing, MP3s / MP4s, Bluetooth, texting / messaging, taking photos and video, listening to the radio, and reading e books. Both offer expandable memory and I've seen both models holding up to 8GB. Both are contract free. But, that's pretty much where the similarities end.

Differences:

WiFi, Productivity, And Smart Phone Features: The M88 (also called the MiPhone) is more of a smart phone or PDA. It includes WiFi, GPS, Windows Mobile, and Java. This allows you to download third party documents, easily work and edit documents away from your office, and easily get on-line almost anywhere.

The M188 on the other hand, is more of a straightforward iPhone clone without these productivity features.

Color: Probably what gets the M88 the most attention is that it is available in a gold finish. The MiPhone typically just comes in basic, but popular black on the front and silver on the back.

Size: This is a big difference between these two phones. The M188 is considered a mini. It is very tiny and is about the size of a credit card. It only weighs 70 grams. The MiPhone on the other hand is a full sized phone and is a good bit heavier. However, most prefer a full sized phone if they are going to be using the smart phone features.

Price: This is another major difference. The M188 is priced pretty low, often starting at around or lower than $100. The M88 is often in the $200 - $250 range, depending upon memory.

So, Which Is Better? Which phone ultimately turns out to be better for you will depend on which features you need or want in your every day life. Both are good phones, with responsive touch screens, nice video and sound quality, and enough features to meet most people's needs. But, if you prefer a smart phone or PDA, you'd probably be happier with the MiPhone. If you're just looking for a basic phone, the 88 will likely work just fine on the cheap.
